Our Mission

At UCCA, our mission is to provide an education to children from Pre-K to 8th-grade and adults in the Cantonese language. UCCA’s focus is on improving everyone’s spoken language skills through interactive activities and dialogues. We would like to help students get more exposure and be able to develop their own identities within the Chinese culture.

Our Vision

UCCA aims to be flexible in how and when we provide our students with the learning materials from our various programs to best fit their needs. We understand that not all students will have a Cantonese school easily accessible nearby and would like to bridge that gap with remote online learning. UCCA wants to make learning Cantonese both fun and interesting for all.

Our Goal

UCCA recognizes the increasing number of new generations that do not speak Cantonese as their primary language. We also see a rise in the demand for adult Cantonese instructors. Our goal is to approach language learning through the lens of support for non-native speakers. With our Speaking Only (SO) curriculum, students can focus on the conversational aspect of Cantonese. Whereas with our Speaking, Reading, Writing (SRW) curriculum, students can become proficient in both the conversational and written aspect of the language.
